The Cromane Seafest 10 Mile Run is open to everyone, at all levels of running experience, walkers, newcomers and people who just want a challenge and a great day out!
This loop is 10 miles long. Cromane comes alive this weekend our Seafest festival. There will be an incredible atmosphere, and good times guaranteed all weekend.
The 10 mile run will start running towards the Church, passing the Community Centre along the main roadway. You will continue past Lough Yganavan ‘Lake of the White Sands’ and home to the local natterjack toad and some native swan.
Continue along the road through Stookisland until you come to a crossroads and on turning right will lead you up Dook’s Mountain road. This leads you past a beautiful bog lake with some lovely off road views of traditional local bogland, where you can see some lovely views across Lough Yganavan and out to Cromane Peninsula.
Coming back along Cromane Peninsula – along the beach passing ‘The Slip’ where fishermen once launched their fishing boats and brought in their haul. Following the road all the way along the shoreline towards the finish line at the Boathouse.
This is a professionally run event and every effort has been made to ensure that all competitors needs are looked after.
